All of our teachers go through an extensive training program at Colorado Swim School. The program includes 40+ hours of classroom and in-water instruction, as well as, shadowing hours with our most experienced teachers. In order to maintain consistency among instructors, all are trained in the same methods and teach the same curriculum for each class level.
Our focus is on safety, comfort in the water, and skills. With combined backgrounds in child development and swimming instruction, we understand that lessons need to be developmentally appropriate.
Our lessons for a 2 year old look different from lessons for a 7 year old. Additionally, we know that children learn best in an environment where they feel safe, loved, and successful. Therefore, we provide positive reinforcement, lots of compliments, and gentle redirection when necessary.
We are lifelong learners and are active in continuing education. We belong to the US Swim School Association, World Aquatic Baby Congress and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance. Through these professional organizations, we remain current and educated in the most advanced techniques in the swim instruction and safety.
